2016 Marconi Symposium
On November 2 and 3, 2016, the Marconi Society held a symposium at the Stanford Linear Accelerator (SLAC) to honor our 2016 Marconi Fellow Bradford Parkison. Parkinson provided the leadership and technical innovation behind a technology that nearly all of us use every day – GPS.
Held in conjunction with Stanford’s Center for Position, Navigation and Time, the Symposium included two days of speakers and panelists who are leading the next generation of work on GPS, navigation and positioning. Invited speakers included Marconi Society Young Scholars Ken Pesyna and Stefania Bartoletti, as well as Marconi Fellows Vint Cerf, John Cioffi, Marty Cooper, Irwin Jacobs, Brad Parkinson and David Payne.
