October 3, 2003: Marconi Fellowship Awards Dinner in Honor of Robert Gallager and Robert Metcalfe
At the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, New York NY

Robert Gallager, a widely respected Massachusetts Institute of Technology academician and inventor of advanced data communications codes, and Robert Metcalfe, who developed the ubiquitous Ethernet computer networking standard, will share this year’s International Marconi Fellowship at a formal awards dinner.

In addition to the presence of many Marconi Fellows, the event will feature a keynote address by Tim Berners-Lee, who last year was named the 30th Marconi International Fellow, cited for his invention of the World Wide Web. Details described in the news release.

The black-tie benefit dinner will cap a timely conference, "Remedies for Telecom Recovery: Final Recommendations Conference," on the campus of Columbia University.
