What is the Impact?
COVID-19 provided the much needed momentum and awareness of the importance of focused funding programs that aim to put technology in the hands of those who need it most. With better, long-term, focused efficacy of grants and resources, digital inclusion work cannot only take place on a larger scale, but can be structured in a way that is sustainable for the communities they are deployed in.
Why is this difficult?
Often, funding is either limited or constrained by specific interests. Other times, those who need funding the most to deploy and develop new ways for connectivity are outside of the grant-making infrastructures.
