What is the Impact?
Trust relationships grow and change within different communities and in different spaces. Better understandings of who are trusted social navigators in specific communities are can allow for the identification and support of digital navigators. These trusted people can include religious leaders, librarians, school teachers, coaches, and mentorship programs.
Why is this difficult?
Trust is socially constructed and emerges and changes within different communities and as a result of different events. To be successful in this area, better ways to measure and assess the levels of trust in communities is required. This entails further collaboration between social scientists and researchers, community organizations, and the funding to support the work of all parties involved.
