When is the event?
The Marconi Society Awards Gala will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023.
Where is the event venue located, and what are the transportation and parking options?
The Marconi Society Awards Gala will be hosted at the National Museum of Natural History located at 10th St. & Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20560.
- The gala will take place at the Constitution Avenue and 10th Street, NW entrance. Please note that the entrance located on Madison Drive will be closed.
- Closest Subway: The nearest subway station is the Federal Triangle (NOT the Smithsonian station).
- Parking: Complimentary valet parking will be available throughout the evening. Look for MJ Valet signs in front of the museum’s entrance for easy access.

What should I wear to the event?
Attire for the event is black tie optional. You’re welcome to dress formally in a tuxedo or evening gown, but a suit or cocktail dress is also suitable.

How do I reserve a hotel room for the event?
Our room block at the Marriott Marquis is now fully booked. Please contact Flora Tromelin at ftromelin@marconisociety.org for more information about hotel availabilities.
If you receive emails or calls regarding your accommodations from a third party, please be wary. There are documented instances of “hotel poachers” contacting event attendees with false information about hotel accommodations.
What is the closest airport to the National Museum of Natural History?
There are two airports that are relatively close to the National Museum of Natural History:
Ronald Reagan National (DCA) – 3.4 miles, approximately 6 minutes away
- Washington Dulles International (IAD) – 24.9 miles, approximately 32 minutes away
Will there be transportation for the event?
There is no shuttle service for the event. Local transportation including cabs and rideshare options are available.
