The Institute Awards recognize individuals whose contributions have meaningfully advanced artificial intelligence, Internet resilience, and wireless communications.
Each award is evaluated by its respective Institute Advisory Council, ensuring domain expertise, global perspective, and independence in the selection process. These awards reflect the Marconi Society’s commitment to celebrating excellence and elevating leaders whose work strengthens our connected world.
Marconi Award for
Excellence in Artificial Intelligence
The AI Institute convenes distinguished leaders and executive decision-makers in AI to foster a dynamic platform for meaningful conversations about AI’s transformative role in shaping global innovation, leadership, and progress. The Marconi Award for Excellence in Artificial Intelligence, presented by the AI Institute, honors exceptional innovation, research, and leadership positively shaping the future of artificial intelligence.
- Individual candidates (teams may be considered in exceptional circumstances)
- Active contributors to the field within the past ten years, with sustained career impact
- Open to technologists, executives, policy leaders, and practitioners globally

Internet
Resilience
The IR Institute advances Internet resilience by convening global experts across technical, industry, and policy domains to identify challenges, foster collaboration, and drive actionable solutions for a secure, reliable, and accessible digital future. The Marconi Award for Leadership in Internet Resilience, presented by the IR Institute, recognizes international leaders advancing the stability, security, and accessibility of Internet connectivity.
- Individual candidates (teams may be considered in exceptional circumstances) representing technical, industry, policy, or civil society domains
- Contributions may be technical, organizational, policy-driven, or advocacy-based
- Global scope—candidates from underserved or emerging connectivity regions are especially encouraged
- No restriction on career stage or institutional affiliation
Marconi Award for
Innovation in Wireless Communications
The Advanced Wireless Institute serves as a neutral platform that brings together key stakeholders from across the wireless ecosystem to collaborate on overcoming critical challenges in wireless communication. The Marconi Award for Innovation in Wireless Communications, presented by the Advanced Wireless Institute, celebrates innovators whose work has enhanced wireless technology and expanded global connectivity.
- Individual candidates (teams may be considered in exceptional circumstances) from across the wireless ecosystem, including engineering, standards development, spectrum policy, and deployment
- Contributions may span foundational research, applied innovation, standards authorship, or transformative deployment programs
- Global in scope, with recognition that wireless connectivity challenges differ significantly across regions
- Open to all career stages and institutional affiliations
Recipients of the Marconi Institute Awards are selected through a review process conducted by the respective Advisory Councils of the AI, Internet Resilience, and Advanced Wireless Institutes.
